We believe a certification is only worth something if its rules are public. This page explains how every SCRUM Framework exam is built, taken, scored and verified, so candidates, employers and recruiters know exactly what a certificate means.

Our four principles

Aligned with the Scrum Guide

Questions are written against the Scrum Guide, the reference definition of Scrum by Ken Schwaber and Jeff Sutherland. No proprietary method, no invented vocabulary.

Accessible

Exams are taken online, in five languages, with no mandatory training and free preparation material, so cost and location are not a barrier.

Transparent

Number of questions, duration, passing score, attempts and price are published for every certification before you buy anything.

Verifiable

Each certificate has a unique ID that anyone can check online with our public Digital Badge checker.

Exam format and passing scores

Every exam is a multiple-choice test taken in a single session.
